HOW TO WORK ON THIS ASSIGNMENT (EXAMPLE DRAFT/ESSAY)
This module has taught me about a variety of topics, including macroeconomics, supply and demand, and social issues such as LGBTQ+ rights. The readings and assignments have helped me understand economic principles as well as current events affecting our society.
Macroeconomics was one of the main topics we covered in this module. I learned about the various economic factors that influence our country, such as inflation, interest rates, and GDP. I also learned about the various economic policies available, such as monetary and fiscal policy. I was able to gain a better understanding of how these policies can be used to manage the economy during times of economic growth or recession through the readings and assignments.
Aside from macroeconomics, we also discussed social issues concerning LGBTQ+ rights. The readings and assignments provided an overview of the various legislative attacks on the LGBTQ+ community. Among these attacks are efforts to outlaw same-sex marriage and restrict transgender rights. I gained a better understanding of the importance of protecting the rights of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, as a result of these readings.
Furthermore, we learned the significance of understanding the transgender community. Reading the Human Rights Campaign’s resource “Understanding the Transgender Community” taught me about the various experiences that transgender people face, such as discrimination and violence. This reading also emphasized the significance of creating safe spaces for transgender people and promoting inclusivity.
NPR’s “Transgender Youth Bills: What You Need to Know” was one of the most interesting articles I read during this module. This article provided an overview of recent bills introduced in several states that seek to limit transgender youth sports participation. This reading reinforced the importance of understanding how policies and legislation affect marginalized communities, as well as the importance of inclusivity and acceptance.
Overall, this module has given me a thorough understanding of macroeconomics as well as social issues concerning LGBTQ+ rights. I was able to make connections between the economic principles we learned and current events shaping our society through the readings and assignments. I’ve also gained a better understanding of the significance of protecting all individuals’ rights and creating inclusive spaces for marginalized communities.
